South Dunedin Street Festival is an annual event organised by South Dunedin locals. While not run by South Dunedin Community Network, SDCN enthusiastically supports the Street Festival and the benefits it has for the community.
South Dunedin Street Festival is a springboard for forging a resilient community by bringing people together to connect, celebrate and support each other. The day showcases the community through performance, art, fun activities, tempting food treats, and exciting and varied market stalls. It is an opportunity for community organisations to widen their reach and understanding of their work, and for stallholders to show and sell their wares.

Community Hui and Stakeholders meetings
Community Hui
South Dunedin Community Network (SDCN) regularly holds community conversations. Our Community Hui (twice a year) guide the Network’s planning and future work. Our Hui are an important way for anyone from the South Dunedin community to hear updates about key Dunedin City Council (DCC) work, community group work, other large projects and work in the area, and to share ideas and opinions on what is important in our community.
Every Hui has a specific theme, and there is plenty of kai for everyone to share and time set aside to connect as a community. SDCN uses information we gather from the Hui and other community conversations to ensure the community has a strong voice in key projects and changes happening in the South Dunedin area, such as the work around groundwater flooding, changes in public transport, and the efforts to protect our shoreline.
Stakeholders Meetings
Every 6 weeks, SDCN holds a South Dunedin Stakeholders Meeting in our Main Space. This is an opportunity for representatives from community groups and interested locals to come together to share event info, concerns, and other updates related to South Dunedin.
